HOLE 5
Unless you are hitting from the LadiesÆ tee, the Fifth leaves you with an intimidating shot of about 200 yards over the lake. The hole bends gently to the left, and a well placed drive has to miss the rough on either side of the fairway. Streams border the green to the front and to the left. A bunker gathers any ball which is hit accurately but with too much strength. The pin is set on a tier between the top and bottom of the green . . . so even short putts must be judged sensitively.
